A 28-year-old male was discovered lying on the side of the road in the Zwelisha – KZN after sustaining a single gunshot wound to his back.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene at approximately 21:43 (Saturday) following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers located the male unresponsive and conducted an assessment. He showed no signs of life and was declared deceased at the scene.
According to members of the public, a gunshot was heard shortly before the victim was found lying on the roadway. Residents exited their homes after hearing the sound and discovered the fatally injured man. The victim is believed to be unknown in the area.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
