WESTERN CAPE – The distribution of drugs was dealt a blow on Saturday night when police members arrested a Nigerian national for the possession of drugs in Maitland.
Members of Operation Lockdown III, gathered information about drugs at a premises in Coronation Street, Maitland. At about 21:30, the members followed up on the information and searched the identified premises. During the search the members found 1078 mandrax tablets and 2311,16 grams of crystal meth in the living room of the house. The estimated street value of the drugs is R740 000.
The 48-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession of drugs and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court on Monday.
