Elderly Residents were left traumatised following a home invasion that occurred on Northbury Avenue in the Phoenix area of Durban on Wednesday afternoon.
KZN VIP Emergency Services were dispatched after receiving a report from a concerned neighbour. Upon arrival, it was established that two armed suspects had gained entry into the premises.
The suspects proceeded to ransack the home, fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of valuables as well as food items taken from the residence.
KZN VIP Medics assessed and assisted the occupants on scene. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported; however, the victims were left significantly traumatised by the incident.
All relevant emergency services were in attendance, and the South African Police Service has been notified. Investigations are ongoing. The suspects managed to flee the scene and remain at large at this stage.
