Last night at 23:00, the Malvern police officers received a complaint of theft of copper cables in progress at Northdene Railway Station in Queensburgh.
They proceeded to the identified area and upon arrival, they observed three males being chased on the railway line by the security officer. Upon noticing the police officers, the suspects fled in different directions. Police gave chase and managed to arrest three suspects aged between 21 and 28. Copper cables and a bolt cutter were recovered at the scene.
The suspects are appearing before the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court today for tampering and damaging of essential infrastructure and theft.
