The MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Wessels Morweng is set to change the course for many learners in the village of Moshana near Zeerust. As part of the Mandela Day celebrations, MEC Morweng will lead the department in a campaign to hand over Shova Kalula bicycles to limit travel time between their homes and schools.
The Shova Kalula campaign was initiated in 2001 with the aim of providing a low cost mobility solution to learners who travel between 3 and 5kms to school on a daily basis, particularly in rural areas.
