A drug dealer that threatened to kill a Member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) last week (Wednesday) has been tracked and arrested in the Verulam Central Business District this morning (Saturday).
The perpetrator was approached last week by Reaction Officers after several businessmen in the Verulam CBD reported suspicious behaviour. The suspect informed the attending Officers that he was linked to the feared taxi owner & if he was arrested for any reason, the Reaction Officers would be shot. Earlier this week the man was again reported conducting suspicious activities & fled upon arrival of Response Vehicles.
This morning (Saturday 07:54) Reaction Officers were despatched to the Verulam CBD after receiving reports of suspicious activities. Officers blocked off several known foot paths & arrested the 19 year old Amoutana – KZN resident after a brief chase. He was found in possession of drugs, cash & mobile phones.
The suspect informed Reaction Officers that he sold drugs in the CBD since February 2025 for his brother who was supplied by a taxi boss.
