A 16-year-old female was rescued from her boyfriend and two (2) accomplices who kidnapped her today (Wednesday).
The teenager’s distraught 32-year-old mother arrived at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters at approximately 10:32, seeking urgent assistance to locate her daughter.
She informed the Reaction Officers that her child was at home with her stepfather, getting ready for school. However, she noticed three (3) males approaching and fled after identifying one of them as her boyfriend.
Seeking refuge at a neighbour’s house, the girl was followed by the trio, who dragged her out and forced her to accompany them. One (1) of the males revealed that they intended to murder her for her infidelity towards her 22-year-old partner.
The mother feared for her daughter’s safety, believing she was at her boyfriend’s home. Her partner had a history of violence and previously violently attacked her.
A team of Reaction Officers promptly mobilised and headed to Mhalsini – KZN. They tactically approached the male’s home and spotted the couple in the veranda.
The female was visibly emotional and crying, while the male communicated with her in a raised voice. First Responders stormed the property and secured the teenager while other Officers subdued the aggressive male.
During questioning, it was established that her partner suspected her of infidelity and kidnapped her to verify the information. He was assisted by two (2) friends who left earlier.
The suspect was released after the mother & daughter declined to register a criminal case.
