The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari, marked the launch of the #16DaysOfActivism for No Violence Against Women and Children by leading a multi-disciplinary #OperationShanela II on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
The operation included a law enforcement roadblock on the N12 National road, as well as vehicle checkpoints (VCPs) on secondary routes in Galeshewe, Kagisho, and Roodepan.
The operation focused on the eradication of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), drug trafficking, trafficking in persons, stock theft, traffic violations, and general criminality.
Awareness pamphlets on GBVF, trafficking in persons, and substance abuse were also distributed.
