A 24-year-old woman was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs after drugs with an estimated street value of R620 000 were found at her residence in Oudtshoorn during a #SaferFestiveSeason operation conducted in the town.
On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, Oudtshoorn SAPS Crime Prevention members armed themselves with a search warrant and raided a premises at Klapperbos Court, Bridgeton in Oudtshoorn. A search of the premises took the team to the bedroom where they found five bags containing tik and mandrax behind the bed. The members proceeded with the search in the room and discovered tik concealed amongst clothes in the cupboard. They confiscated just above 1,4 kilogram Tik as well as 2500 Mandrax tablets and arrested the woman.
She will appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ court tomorrow, 12 December 2025 for the mentioned charge.
Detectives attached to the Western Cape Provincial Organised Crime Investigations (Narcotics) based in George are investigating this matter.
The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General (Adv.) Thembisile Patekile lauded the efforts of the members who ensured that the illicit drugs were removed from the community.
