A twenty five (25) year old Verulam – KZN resident (details withheld) was attacked by a group of men on Christmas Day after witnessing and seeking assistance at the scene of a vehicle/pedestrian accident.
The man was traveling on Inanda Road in the vicinity of Dawncrest – KZN when he noticed a VW Polo strike a pedestrian and flee the scene. He then noticed a Range Rover believed to be associated with the VW Polo driver and requested that they provide assistance.
This angered the occupants of the SUV, who became aggressive. The good Samaritan was pursued from the scene while fleeing for safety and was attacked. His vehicle (see picture) was damaged by the occupants of SUV.
The vehicle registrations were recorded, and a criminal case of malicious injury to property was registered via SAPS Verulam CAS 541/12/2025.
