The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Clayville, Winnie Mandela, and Thembisa Precincts, along with the First Response Unit North (FRU) Officers, conducted a festive season public transport operation on the R562 near Tshumulani Mall.
With many commuters heading home, the operation focused on vehicle roadworthiness, driver compliance and public safety.
Operational successes included x109 traffic fines issued, x3 vehicles discontinued, x1 illegal immigrant arrested, x1 arrest for failing to furnish information & intimidation and x168 vehicles stopped and searched
