On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, in collaboration with the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence Unit Officers and Hlasela Tactical Security, arrested three (3) male suspects aged between forty-five (45) and forty-nine (49) in the Ivory Park area.
The arrest followed information received regarding individuals allegedly in possession of stolen goods. An intelligence led operation was subsequently conducted at a residence on Motaung Street, where the suspects were located.
Upon arrival, Officers introduced themselves and explained the purpose of the visit. Consent to search the premises was granted by the suspects. During the search, Officers discovered a blue Suzuki motorbike with its licence disc and registration plate removed. A verification conducted using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) returned positive on a wanted SAPS case.
Further search of the premises led to the recovery of several toilet paper rolls and other packaged items bearing the names and grades of learners, stored in the same room. When questioned, the suspects admitted to having broken into a private school situated on a plot in the Kyalami area, Midrand.
Additional recovered items included an HP printer and an inverter. The suspects were arrested and will be handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.
