A 20-year-old and a 53-year-old suspect will appear before the Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 06 February 2026, on allegations of possession of drugs and drug dealing. The duo was arrested by Ezibeleni police members who were conducting random patrols in the area on 04 February 2026.
On Wednesday, 04 February 2026, at around 07:30, members were patrolling when they spotted a suspicious black VW Polo vehicle with EC registration plates and followed it. The vehicle was followed to a residential premises at Ekuphumleni, Zone 1, Ezibeleni, where it was parked.
Upon reaching the premises, members requested to search the vehicle, and permission was granted. An undisclosed amount of cash and packages of tik were discovered and confiscated by police.
A further request to search the house where the vehicle was parked was made and granted. A 20-year-old female, who is the girlfriend of the 53-year-old foreign national, was found inside the house. Upon searching the house, more drugs and cash were recovered and seized. The vehicle, believed to have been used in the commission of a crime, was also seized. The seized items are estimated to have a street value of more than R150 000.
Both suspects were arrested on the spot and will appear before the Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 06 February 2026.
