At 08h00 this morning, Mokopane Traffic Officers stopped a driver on the N1 at Planknek after a VW Polo was recorded travelling at 188km/h.
The driver was arrested and taken to Mokopane SAPS to face charges.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety warns: At 188km/h, you cover 52 metres every single second. There is zero time to react to a pedestrian, a pothole, or another vehicle. A crash at that speed is not survivable.
We commend our Mokopane Traffic Officers for removing this danger from the road. Speed kills – your family, other families, and you.
