The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, in collaboration with CPS security personnel, arrested three (3) male suspects aged between twenty-eight (28) and thirty-five (35) years, for possession of a reported stolen vehicle, in the Alberton area.
As Officers were conducting law enforcement duties, they spotted a suspicious silver VW Polo, travelling along 2nd Avenue, with three (3) occupants inside.
The vehicle was stopped and upon conducting a systematic check and inspection, Officers discovered that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) displayed on the windscreen did not correspond with the details on the licence disc. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier this year at Norkem Park Police Station.
All three suspects were subsequently arrested and detained at Alberton Police Station. They are expected to appear before the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
