The driver of the vehicle lost control on the R59 near to the Vanderbijlpark offramp due to unknown reason. It was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to find that the passenger was trapped in his seat in the vehicle which was on its roof on the side of the road. The Emfuleni Fire and Rescue Department used hydraulic equipment to get him out if the vehicle. It took approximately 15 minutes to cut away at the metal in order to free the patient, all the while paramedics treated him inside the car. He was complaining of pain to his shoulder and was in a stable condition as he was taken per ambulance to Sebokeng Hospital.
The driver had suffered minor injuries and was able to climb from the wreck himself. He was taken to Kopanong Hospital for further assessment.
