The apprentices’, down to the last six, soldier on and put on their thinking caps as they tackle one of the hardest tasks set for The Insurance Apprentice 2020, sponsored by Marsh Africa.
Comprehensive environmental risk assessment
Acting as the board of Plastics and Recycling Pty Ltd, Judge Simon Colman, Executive Head of Digital Distribution at SHA Risk Specialists, Judge Nadia Starr, Chief Executive Officer at Inseta and guest Judges Peter Links, Vice President of Strategic Risk Consulting and Gert Wahl, Client and Markets Officer, Client Advisory Services at Marsh Africa, instruct the apprentices to perform a comprehensive environmental risk assessment regarding the company’s environmental exposures at its four sites.
The apprentice’s task is to prepare a risk management presentation for the next board meeting highlighting the key points resulting from the report’s findings and their recommendations.
During preparation time, the apprentices are rudely interrupted because of an explosion that happened soon after they received their initial task. Using the work done for the board presentation, as an insurance and risk management adviser, the apprentices must now brief the Chairperson, Head of PR, legal counsel and advisers. The purpose of this is to provide insight to the board and delegation on the events, as well as establish a plan from which to work from (i.e. understanding the potential exposures at all sites including potential mitigation and crises response) and with this, the focus shifts for the apprentices.
Could the apprentices handle the pressure and which apprentice fell victim to elimination?
