Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) are currently searching for four men who robbed a house on Cassia Road in Lotusville, Verulam this morning.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the residence after the 64-year-old victim reported the robbery to a neighbor. On arrival, she informed Officers that she was conducting chores in the yard with five of her employees. Her driveway gate was ajar when the robbers entered the property.
The female and her employees were forced into the home where her hands and legs were bound with pieces of material. One suspect was armed with a firearm. He demanded to know the location of the valuables while his accomplices ransacked the house.
The suspect made off with three TV’s, seven cellphones, jewelry, and a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The goods were loaded into the victim’s blue E 240 Mercedes-Benz with registration NJ 435 which sped off from the property followed by the suspect’s blue Toyota Tazz (registration unknown). The elderly female’s employees freed her from her restraints. She then sought assistance from a neighbor who contacted RUSA for assistance. The victims were not injured.
