Drug operations are still ongoing in the province to eliminate the manufacturing and distribution of drugs. Yesterday, police officers from Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit arrested another drug dealer for possession and dealing in drugs.
The team proceeded to Duncan Road at Glenwood in Umbilo following an investigation into a foreign national that was
dealing drugs. The police officers swooped on the premises and found a 34-year-old man in possession of 195 capsules of heroin, a large piece of rock cocaine and heroin powder.
The recovered drugs are valued at R30 310-00. The suspect will be making his first appearance before the Durban Magistrates Court today. We want to thank members of the community that continue to provide us with information on drug dealing in their neighborhoods. Whilst these investigations are lengthy and require a high level of investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book, it is important that we continue to persevere to clean up our suburbs.
We urge our citizens to continue reporting information on criminality to Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MYSAPS app.
