A 42 year old man was bound with cable ties during a home invasion on Hawk Road in Waterloo – KZN this afternoon (Sunday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the property at approximately 13:27. On arrival, the victim informed Reaction Officers that he was alone in the residence when he was confronted by three unknown males.
They enquired about a man who lived on the premises. The victim advised them that they may be at the wrong address when the suspects produced firearms and bound his hands & legs with cable ties. They then forced their way into two locked rooms that are being rented. They stole two TVs and cash.
One of the suspects was overheard making a call to an unknown person requesting that they be uplifted. The victim managed to free himself from his restraints after they left and sought assistance from neighbours.
He could not confirm what vehicle was used in the robbery.
