A white Isuzu bakkie hijacked from Area 2 in Mhlasini was recovered in Ndwedwe – KZN this afternoon (Friday).
A man arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 16:01 requesting assistance. The victim informed Reaction Officers that he is employed at a hardware & cartage business. He and his driver proceeded to Mhlasini – KZN after receiving a call from a man requesting their services to transport furniture.
On arrival at the location provided, three men hijacked their vehicle. One suspect was armed with a firearm. The victims boarded a mini taxi. The driver proceeded to his place of employment while his colleague sought assistance from RUSA.
Reaction Officers obtained a tracking report from the victim’s employer. Officers mobilised to Ndwedwe – KZN. The bakkie was recovered abandoned on an unpaved road by Car Track.
The suspects removed several panels in search of the tracking unit.
