Tshwane Metro Police Department social crime prevention members conducted a joint operation on Monday, 12 February 2024, with other law enforcement officers focusing on school searches. At a certain school in Mamelodi, 500 learners were searched.
A knife, toy guns and five small bags of dagga were found with some learners, which resulted in the suspension of two learners pending their disciplinary hearings.
In a separate incident on Monday, 12 February 2024, Region 1 Sector 1 members arrested one person in Winterveld who was selling alcohol to minors at a spaza shop. The spaza shop owner was arrested for trading in alcohol without a
liquor licence. He was also issued with a fine and the liquor was confiscated.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department will continue to conduct these operations that are aimed at keeping the residents of Tshwane safe. Well done to the officers for their hard work!
