A female sustained moderate injuries after allegedly being assaulted and robbed while walking along a nature trail in the uMhlanga area on Friday afternoon.
KZN VIP Emergency Medical teams were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident. Upon arrival, it was established that the victim had allegedly been accosted by a male suspect armed with a knife while utilizing the trail. The suspect then robbed her of her belongings before fleeing the scene.
The injured female managed to make her way onto Lagoon Drive, where she requested assistance from passing motorists. Emergency services were then contacted and responded promptly.
Paramedics treated the patient on scene before transporting her to a nearby medical facility for the further medical attention she required.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident.
