The swift response to information of an unlicensed firearm by Pacaltsdorp police members resulted in the confiscation of a handgun and the arrest of a 39-year-old man on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm on Sunday, 26 April 2026.
The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to make his first court appearance in the George Magistrates’ court on mentioned charge.
This arrest and confiscation forms part of concerted efforts by police to rid communities of unlicensed firearms which threatens the safety of the public.
