This was evident when in the swift action by the Springbok Highway Patrol and Springbok K9 units which resulted in the confiscation of a substantial amount of hydroponic cannabis on Monday, 20 April 2026 at approximately 12:40.
Reacting to information received about a suspicious package that emitted a strong odure of cannabis at a local Paxi company.
Upon inspection, the package was found to contain one large plastic bag filled with hydroponic cannabis with an estimated street value of R289 200-00.
Information indicates that the parcel was dispatched from Durban and was destined to be collected by an unknown individual.
An enquiry has been registered for further investigation with no arrests made.
Drug trafficking in any form poses a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our communities, and the SAPS Namakwa District remains unwavering in its commitment to combating this scourge.
