Three suspects are now behind bars following an attempted vehicle theft at Rock Cod earlier today, Sunday 5 April 2026.
Earlier, the Honeydew Emergency Security Group received reports of an incident at Rock Cod in Ruimsig. Multiple security companies, along with SAPS, responded swiftly. One suspect was apprehended after crashing his vehicle, while two others fled the scene in a second car.
Members of Honeydew SAPS, together with BAS Special Operations, pursued leads that took them to Soweto, where they successfully apprehended the remaining two suspects, recovering the second getaway vehicle.
Both the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Etios used in the incident were found to be linked to outstanding cases in Brixton.
Authorities also recovered two signal jammers, seven computer boxes, and various tools commonly used in vehicle theft, all in the suspects’ possession.
