Seven suspects appeared in the Balfour Magistrate’s Court today, 26 May 2026, on charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and #StockTheft.
The suspects are:

* Thandanani Sokhele (33)
* Kholisile Majola (34)
* Jacob Motaung (35)
* Sechaba Mokoena (35)
* Madina Soetland (38)
* Nkosinathi Simelane (39)
On Monday, 25 May 2026, near a certain farm in Balfour, police were conducting routine patrols when they spotted a white Toyota Quantum minibus and stopped it for a search. During the search, members discovered that the seats of the minibus had been removed and meat was found inside the vehicle.
When questioned about the meat, the driver alleged that he had been hired by the six men from Duduza in Gauteng to collect unknown goods in Balfour.
All seven suspects, including the driver of the minibus, were arrested at the scene and charged with possession of suspected stolen goods and stock theft.
The case was postponed to 02 June 2026 for a formal bail application. All suspects remain in custody.
