Successful Resuscitation
Howick EMS crews were dispatched to a serious medical emergency in the Howick area earlier today. Upon arrival on scene, paramedics found the patient in a critical condition suffering from a life-threatening medical emergency.
Treatment was immediately initiated, with crews working rapidly to stabilise the patient before transport to hospital.
While en route to a specialist medical facility, the patient’s condition deteriorated and the patient went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics immediately initiated CPR and resuscitation efforts, including urgent defibrillation and the administration of life-saving medication.
Crews continued treatment while transporting the patient under emergency conditions. On arrival at a specialist hospital, the patient was handed over to the specialist medical team for further treatment and care. Following continued medical intervention, the patient regained consciousness.
