Ongoing operations conducted throughout the North West province to rid communities of drugs have resulted in the arrest of three suspects for possession of suspected illegal substances.
On Thursday, 5 March 2026, two suspects, both Nigerian nationals aged 40 and 43, were arrested for possession of drugs after police followed up on information received in Schweizer-Reneke, Buiten Street. Upon searching the house police discovered a variety of drugs, including mandrax, crystal meth, dagga as well as cash.
The duo is expected to appear before the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 March 2026.
In a second unrelated incident reported on Saturday, 7 March 2026, a 29-year-old suspect was arrested in Letlhabile at Maboloka Village, during a crime intelligence-driven operation conducted by a team consisting of the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, Provincia Tracking Team, Crime Intelligence and Klerksdorp Tactical Response Team (TRT).
During the operation, a variety of drugs with an estimated street value of more than R120 000.00 were confiscated, along with cash. The suspect is expected to appear before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 March 2026, on charge of dealing in drugs.
