Two teenagers were apprehended by members of KZN VIP following a theft out of a motor vehicle in the Palmview area on Monday evening.
KZN VIP was alerted by the complainant after two suspicious teenagers were seen loitering near a parked vehicle. Shortly thereafter, the complainant discovered that an undisclosed amount of valuables had been stolen from the vehicle.
KZN VIP members immediately followed up on information received and successfully traced the suspects to the Palmview area, where they were apprehended at a local residential flat.
One suspect was found in possession of the stolen property, while the second suspect, believed to be an accomplice, was also located. The stolen belongings were recovered and handed back to the complainant.
The complainant did not wish to open a criminal case, and the suspects were released.
KZN VIP urges residents to remain vigilant and avoid leaving valuables visible inside vehicles, even for short periods.
