A lounge was damaged after a fire broke out in a flat on Ficus Road in Chelmsford Heights, Tongaat – KZN this morning (Monday, 25/05/2026).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 11:42 after members of the public reported smoke emanating from the property. On arrival, Reaction Officers observed thick black smoke billowing from the flat.
Residents at the scene informed Officers that they were uncertain how the fire started. The blaze was located in the lounge area of the residence. The Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been established at this stage.
